AI and digital twinning
We use artificial intelligence techniques and advanced modeling tools to develop digital twins of integrated energy systems.
Beyond the mathematics and technologies, digital twins enable the quantitative exploration of new business cases, transition plans, and sectorial roadmaps.
An example: urban transit
We have developed an uncertainty-aware optimization model to assess the transition from diesel bus fleets to emission-free mobility (e.g., via battery electric, or hydrogen fuel cell powertrains).
Our analysis enables projections to minimize or eliminate emissions while maximizing savings, and minimizing scheduling disruptions.

Practical, not theoretical tools
We are developing an operational model to assess the daily impacts of transitioning to a decarbonized transit fleet.
The simulation environment includes features such as optimal charging and refueling infrastructure configuration, and the assessment of power demand and scheduling impacts.
