We are located at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Our province created North America’s first carbon tax, and Vancouver aims to be the world’s greenest city.

The Point Grey campus is close to downtown and the airport. The site has been UBC’s home for over 100 years, and it sits on the traditional territory of the Musqueam people.

A global platform

The region linking British Columbia to Washington, Oregon, and California represents a unique innovation corridor. A common time zone is compatible with financial centres in London, New York, and Hong Kong, and the region has global brand recognition as the birthplace of Boeing, Google, and carbon taxes.

Leading climate action

In 1997, UBC developed the first sustainability policy for a Canadian university. In 2007, it met the Kyoto targets while simultaneously growing 35% in student population and 16% in built infrastructure. By 2015, UBC had achieved an additional 33% reduction in GHG emissions, on track for carbon-neutrality by 2050.
